“Toyota debuts new Prius hybrid”

Toyota Motor Corp. launched its awaited new Prius hybrid to face off against rival Honda Motor Corps Insight which was released in February. As expected, the new Prius hybrid is officially priced \2.05million. The previous model with less powerful engine cost \2.33million tag. The reason why Toyota set the affordable price for new Prius hybrid is because the existence of the rival Isight from Honda priced \ 1.89 million. Despite the economic crisis, Toyota said that it has received orders for more than 80,000 units compared with the 18,000 orders from Hondas Insight. Experts said it is absolutely possible to pay off Toyotas strategies to slash the price of remodeled third-generation Prius. Beside, this is for sure that new tax incentive introduced in April to promote eco-friendly vehicles are adding positive effect on the sales. The new and existing incentives lower the tax by \ 164,000 to \ 216;000 for the new Prius. the Prius soon debut in more than 80 countries including North America, the other part of Asia, Europe, Oceania etc. Toyota expect 500,000 to 600,000 units of all its hybrid models for this year. As the Toyota president said, it is time for us not only what is good for the customer but also what is good for society. I believe that this new eco-friendly Prius hybrid will success all over the world, which brings benefit to both the customer and the society.
